The “Maybe” Dad

Once again out in the dating world I’ve decided to chronicle my adventures on a more regular basis, instead of just giving the major highlights and lowlights. Think of it as a geek’s dating column; picture Sex and the City meets Three’s Company meets Ugly Betty.

John asked me out.  John and I went out to dinner at one of my favorite restaurants:  Ajuua.  He got there very early and was sitting down when I arrived.  This is a good sign, that he was waiting for me.  But the first thing he said was that he almost didn’t recognize me.  (I refused to read into it.) He was a little shorter than his profile had indicated.

Over the phone he mentioned that he was losing weight, and wanted to lose at least 20 more.  I figured that would make him understanding of my situation. But where was he going to lose it from? The guy was pretty small.  I need to lose weight, but even when I get back to my 2006 low weight, I would still be bigger than him.

Bottom line?  No spark.  It’s ok that he already has kids (two under 7), but he doesn’t really want more.  His profile said maybe, but he seemed very non-comittal.  Why should I raise his kids if he is not willing to raise mine.  Add to that that I had little to no attraction, which I believe was mutual. I won’t be calling this one back.

And the search continues….
